Value Engineering in the Tri-State Area

In today’s tight economy, construction projects that lack value are simply poor investments. Why waste money overpaying for the wrong HVAC system when less expensive alternatives exist?

Our in-house Value Engineering team will help you analyze project cost and quality to achieve the greatest value for your new construction project. We are experienced in calculating and delivering the maximum possible value for your project, product, service or company.

You can count on Mamre to handle all aspects of your project from start to finish, including design, mechanical installation, and maintenance.

Case Study 1

James J. Peters VA Medical Center

Overview

Client: American Veteran Construction Corp.
Completed:
November 2020
Contract Bid:
$6.4mm

Description

Mamre was engaged to retrofit the mechanical rooms of the James J. Peter VA Medical Center as part of the project’s Phase IV. To deliver on the project’s scope, Mamre demolished and rebuilt all the mechanical equipment servicing various departments within the hospital complex.

The client required that the hospital remained fully operational during construction. To meet this requirement, Mamre designed a temporary heating & cooling system to service the complex while the project was in progress, averting downtime.

Mamre’s approach allowed the project to be completed faster than the phases that were already in development, while saving the customer substantial costs without issuing change orders.

Newlab

Overview

Client: Yorke Construction
Completed:
June 2016
Contract Bid
: $5.4mm

Description

Mamre collaborated with MD Mechanical to redesign the original mechanical system that was scoped for an 84,000 sf innovation center in the Brooklyn Navy Yard that would service a community of over 800 companies working in advanced technology.

The innovation and efficiencies provided by modern HVAC systems allowed Mamre to propose changing the scope away from a cooling tower, which requires heavy piping and substantial manpower for installation, in favor of a modern VRF system.

As a result of the value engineering engagement and subsequent redesign, the client saved over 4 mm in cost, and realized further savings after the building opened for operations.
